maybe it’s kinda new for a movie ending, but they could’ve done better i think. the book’s ending is like hanging, so maybe that’s why the director changed it a little bit..

but definitely not a movie for kids.. must be for adults only..

I would beg to disagree. This movie is more of a social commentary than a sci-fi flick. It ’s best to watch the movie not expecting anything because if you were expecting it to be horror or sci-fi, you will surely be disappointed. If you try to watch the movie again and re-evaluate the significance of the social phenomenon that is displayed in the movie, you’ll appreciate it more. And yes, the ending was not good, but hey, it deviates from the common happy ending so I thought it was something good.

I mostly like stephen king’s movies because you can’t predict what will happen on its ending part.

but, killing his own son? nah! really dissappointing.

I had more issues with the movie, because I didn’t expect any of the extreme “sci-fi” that was in it. I expected a horror flick. I hadn’t seen trailers, so maybe that’s why, but I was heartily disappointed in that part of it.

I did like the controversy about the “crazy woman” and all that. Reminded me of Lord of The Flies in a way. That’s one of the big things I remembered from that novel, you know?

And the ending just killed me. I mean, I’m not a parent yet, but I’m a godmother and an “aunt” and it KILLED me. My godkids’ mom said that she had bought the movie because the kids wanted to see it and I begged and pleaded with her not to let them see it until she’d seen it all the way through herself - and for her to be prepared. We’re both glad she heeded my words, because she said that the ending freaked her out and she wound up throwing the thing in the trash, breaking the disc beforehand so the kids couldn’t see.

It was very intense, and regardless of whether or not it was King’s or the director’s, I hated it because of the ending.

@ Alcoholic - Yeah it is the darkest movie ending I’ve seen too… and it creeps me out..

@ Tessa - So the director is responsible for the ending.. hmmmm… still didn’t liked it.

You have to admit thought, that the ending was one of the darkest movie endings I have ever seen.
Loved it!
