The Mist (Movie) is Disappointing
I don’t know if it is just me or it is really disappointing, me and Tessa was really excited about this very cool movie coming, well, we thought it was. We love movies, we go to the big screen almost every week if we have time. We were thrilled with its trailer clip, I thought it was another sci-fi movie that grabbed my interest. Well it is part sci-fi and part horror, but I categorized it as more on sci-fi movie.
At first, the movie goes very smooth, I really liked it, the thrill and the horror it brought, the twists and actions was very cool too. But something is holding me back on really taking the movie as “amazing”. Somehow, there are scenes or scripts that are very unGodly for me. I know it is part of the thrill, but it is so unGodly.
The thing or scene that made me so disappointed was the ending. If you haven’t seen it, go ahead watch it, but definitely for adults only. Why? Because I don’t think there’s something on the movie that you can get moral lesson on. Especially on the ending, it’s like the movie has no hope like it should have, the movie shows that there is no God, if you know what I mean. It really is disappointing.
It's really nice having a coffee while reading, I'll appreciate it if you treat me one.Popularity: 67% [?]

Spoiler!
Many still didn’t got the chance to watch the film.
Well I guess that’s how Stephen King writes his horror stories… though the endng was not his work. I think it was edited by the director… to give the viewers the shock of their lives. Though it didn’t suprised me since I love guessing ahead what will happen in some parts.
I guess your against it because you couldn’t see yourself as a father killing his own son. That was not right. But it’s fiction.
To the readers: I hope as parents of a minor, you won’t allow your son/daughter to watch this film. If you do, be sure you give them proper guidance.

@ Alcoholic - Yeah it is the darkest movie ending I’ve seen too… and it creeps me out..
@ Tessa - So the director is responsible for the ending.. hmmmm… still didn’t liked it.

I had more issues with the movie, because I didn’t expect any of the extreme “sci-fi” that was in it. I expected a horror flick. I hadn’t seen trailers, so maybe that’s why, but I was heartily disappointed in that part of it.
I did like the controversy about the “crazy woman” and all that. Reminded me of Lord of The Flies in a way. That’s one of the big things I remembered from that novel, you know?
And the ending just killed me. I mean, I’m not a parent yet, but I’m a godmother and an “aunt” and it KILLED me. My godkids’ mom said that she had bought the movie because the kids wanted to see it and I begged and pleaded with her not to let them see it until she’d seen it all the way through herself - and for her to be prepared. We’re both glad she heeded my words, because she said that the ending freaked her out and she wound up throwing the thing in the trash, breaking the disc beforehand so the kids couldn’t see.
It was very intense, and regardless of whether or not it was King’s or the director’s, I hated it because of the ending.

I mostly like stephen king’s movies because you can’t predict what will happen on its ending part.
but, killing his own son? nah! really dissappointing.

I would beg to disagree. This movie is more of a social commentary than a sci-fi flick. It ’s best to watch the movie not expecting anything because if you were expecting it to be horror or sci-fi, you will surely be disappointed. If you try to watch the movie again and re-evaluate the significance of the social phenomenon that is displayed in the movie, you’ll appreciate it more. And yes, the ending was not good, but hey, it deviates from the common happy ending so I thought it was something good.

maybe it’s kinda new for a movie ending, but they could’ve done better i think. the book’s ending is like hanging, so maybe that’s why the director changed it a little bit..
but definitely not a movie for kids.. must be for adults only..
