That was RoboCup 2007 Finals between Team Osaka (Japan) and NimbRo (Univ. of Freiburg, Germany). The game was so exciting and funny. Although Team Osaka’s humanoids are more agile and fast, they lost the game. NimbRo’s humanoids did send their robots to the field leaving the goal unguarded which made them less defensive but more offensive.

Why did I think that robots may take over the world? I might answer you a question as well, “have you seen that video?”. That ain’t any ordinary robots, those are Humanoids, Artificial Intelligent robots who are programmed to play soccer, those humanoids doesn’t have any remote control. It just plays soccer, and communicate with its team mate for defense and offense strategies.

Whoa! Kinda cool huh? Yeah it is, but scary. My mother once said to my brother who’s in Singapore right now, “Roy, you should make me a robot helper that will do all the house chores”. My brother just laughed. Hey, that isn’t impossible.

Imagine a robot having its own mind, thinking and learning everything you are saying to it, that I think is very dangerous and scary. Did you ever think about that?
