I Feel Young, But I Realized I’m Not
Today, after work, me and my office mates had a small talk while walking to our respective homes. We somehow got to the “age” topic. We ask everyone’s ages and eventually talked about the age of our boss’ boss. I never did expect that we’re just on the same age. He looks really mature and I feel like I’m just 21 or something like that. It really opened my mind, thinking that I’m at this age now and I’m still thinking about enjoying like a teen and sort of things, instead of thinking something more serious, like putting up some business, applying for a better job with a better pay that I can settle with, you know, thinking “matured”.
What I realized was, I’m not young anymore. I should think more mature now. And it made me think that it’s because I never have achieved any goals or anything that would make me feel more mature in life. I’m the youngest of the family, and I think you know what treatment the youngest has. Do not do this, do not do that. You’re not allowed with this, not allowed with that. I mean, those kinds of treatment made me feel like I’m behind of things. Never had explored things that a teenager should experience. Not to mention I graduated in college kinda late. No, I’m not thinking about rebelling. Why should I do that? I’m mature now right? Hehe. And besides, high school fun is kinda way too late for me. 
Well, I’m not mad at my parents. Actually I’m happy I have parents and brothers and sister like them. They really took very good care with me, and I’m thankful to God for that. Now that I have graduated in college and I do have work now, I should explore things now (maturely) and with that, hopefully will make me more mature mentally and spiritually. Not physically though, I don’t wanna look old. Hehe. How do you suggest on how to make me more mature? Mature and positive things okay? Heh, mature… 
I never thought of you being like that. You see, I always look up to you as a mature person (I just don’t know who you are when you’re with friends). Mature like when you get to decide things and when you are dealing with our relationship.
I’m not sure what kind of experience you are talking about, though you don’t need to experience what you haven’t experienced in high school (unsa na kad2ng mga binugoy?). It just shows that you are mature enough to accept and understand things that you should do and you shouldn’t do. Also, it shows that you respect your parents decisions as well as their guidance instead of being rebellious and doing things as you please. I think that’s mature enough.
I view maturity on how you get to decide things, you get to be wiser, and through experience… (know what’s really wrong from right).
There’s this two kinds of views on how we define maturity. One is with age alone and the other one is something more on personality, wiser and better.
