I was shocked when our friend is rushing to my room like a terrified woman jumping and smashing my door with her hands yelling “Wake up Marc! School is on fire!” early in the morning when I was still sleeping like an angel, heh, angel with my mouth open and snoring. Hehe. Who wouldn’t be terrified about that? It’s fire your talking about. When I heard her yell about it, I suddenly jumped off my bed and almost forgot my shorts on, I would have been running outside HALF NAKED! haha.

Then I asked “Where’s the fire?” then she answered “The school is on fire!”. Still shocked because our store, where I am sleeping, is right beside the elementary school here in our place. I suddenly rushed to the phone and called my Mom at our house and told them that the school is on fire, then dialed 911 to report the fire accident, but they already knew about it and the fire department is on the way.

I was relieved when I saw the smoke getting smaller and smaller. Then I went back to bed. I was upset and at the same time laughing at our friend. She was like going to die when she was yelling. I mean, hey! the fire is far from here! I know it could grew big at no time, but still far from here, and fire busters would be here and wouldn’t crawl here then. I was worried with my Mom, how she would react about hearing fire. My Mom is old and you know elders easily get heart attacked in times like that.

I just want to tell you guys reading this, when you are in this situation, don’t panic! You could hurt yourself and others panicking. Just be calm and call 911 for help, get out of the house and don’t ever come back in. Good thing Davao has now 911, very helpful. Whew, what a morning I had..
